Selection trials of Andhra Pradesh team for V.I – Reg

Nethravidayalaya Cricket tournament varija

CABAP (Cricket Association for Blind of Andhra Pradesh) requested Nethra Vidyalaya to organize the Selection trials of AP Cricket team for Visually Challenged. With the permission of our Swamiji, Nethra vidyalaya organized the camp for 36 members in all aspects like accommodation, food, transport etc., from 3rd to 5th Jan, 2021.

We have inaugurated the programme at ACA-VDCA International Stadium, Visakhapatnam on 4th Jan, 2021, with lightening the lamp by the chief guest Ex. Addl. S.P Sriman T.S.R.Prasad Garu and Committee of Varija & Nethra. On the occasion of Louis Braille’s birthday, our Nethraites spoke a few words and sang some melodious songs on Louis Braille. After the completion of this programme, Chief Guest had started the selection camp and it has been continued for two days.

For this camp, Indian Team Captain Sriman Ajay Kumar Reddy, Vice-Captain Sriman Venkateswara Rao and team Members Sriman Durga Rao and Sriman Prem Kumar visited, organized and made this camp a grand success.
All the participants felt very Emotional and grateful for the hospitality and facilities provided by our Nethra Team at the time of leaving the campus.

Out of 36 participants, 4 of them are from our Institutions in which 3 (Gopala Chari, Ravindra and Punya Srinadh) are selected for the National Camp i.e. Nagesh trophy (Only trophy organized by government every year for V.I) which is going to be held in 2nd Week of February.

Our Nethra Team wanted to present some gifts to the players. On that purpose we bought a Cricket Kit for them. But they did not agree to receive any of the gifts from us. They felt that providing all the facilities in this pandemic is a great gift for them. They requested only one thing – that they wanted to take a single bat on the hands of our swamiji and left the kit in our school itself. Their wish is to win the Nagesh trophy and wanted to dedicate to our school.

Nethra Vidyalaya, founded by HH Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji, provides free, holistic education to visually impaired children — empowering them to live with dignity and self-reliance. Swamiji’s constant aspiration is to empower every student to become self-reliant and lead a life of dignity, without dependence on others.

Our students write exams on laptops, have marched in NCC Parades before the Governor, and shine in sports, athletics, and cultural events — embodying Swamiji’s vision of true independence.

These achievements reflect the dedication of our students, the guidance of Swamiji, and the generous support of our donors and volunteers.
