NethraVidyalaya is a renowned day and residential school located in a scenic coastal district of Vishakapatnam in Southern India. On the shores of Bay of Bengal, the visually challenged children in our school campus enjoy studying, playing, dancing, singing and more. Qualified teachers who are passionate in working with these blind children effectively incorporate various teaching methods that include braille instruction, fostering independence, visual efficiency skills and soft skills to make them confident and talented.
Founded in 2001 by HH Sri Chinna JeeyarSwamiji, Nethra Vidyalaya offers education for classes I to X. The schooling, boarding, lodging, uniforms, study materials are offered free of charge to all the students.
Who can Join?
Children in the age group of 5 to 15 years with above 40% blindness are eligible to join the school.
Skills and strengths of each and every student are identified and appropriate training is imparted in them so that they can excel in their natural strength—this is our specialty. We believe in unlocking every child’s unique potential through tailored programs that foster confidence and creativity from an early age. Special classes for music, chess and arts are arranged to let these creative brains give their share of excellence for the world to relish, ensuring they shine brightly in their chosen domains.
Students from NethraVidyalaya have shone brightly on the “Padutha Thiyaga” platform, a highly popular Telugu TV show, where they delivered captivating performances and received medals from legendary personalities such as S.P. Balasubramanyam. Our students have also excelled in sports, winning Paralympic gold and silver medals in both indoor games like kokku and carroms, and outdoor games such as cricket—demonstrating our specialty in empowering every talent to reach world-class levels.
