Nethra Students Shine at World Para Athletics Grand Prix 2026

With the divine mangalasasanams of Sri Sri Sri Tridandi Srimannarayana Ramanuja Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji, the students of Nethra Vidyalaya School and College have brought immense pride by securing 1 Gold, 2 Silver, and 1 Bronze medal at the 2nd New Delhi World Para Athletics Grand Prix 2026 held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. The prestigious international event, organized by the Paralympic Committee of India, witnessed the participation of nearly 257 athletes from eight nations, making it a highly competitive global platform for para athletes.

Among the outstanding achievers, K. Gowtham delivered a remarkable performance by winning the Gold Medal in Long Jump (T11–T12 category) and the Bronze Medal in the 100 meters (T12 category). Adding to the institution’s success, Sirisha Govu and Lalitha Killaka from Nethra College secured Silver Medals in the Women’s 100 meters (T11 category) and Women’s 400 meters (T11 category) respectively.

These remarkable achievements reflect the dedication, discipline, and perseverance nurtured at Nethra Vidyalaya College and School, where students are encouraged to excel in both academics and sports.

Sirisha Govu also shared her inspiring journey, expressing deep gratitude to HH Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji and Nethra Vidyalaya for their unwavering encouragement. She mentioned that before joining the institution, she had never participated in sports.
