Educational Institute of Visually Challenge
With unwavering determination and skill, our Indian team conquered the field and made history by winning the series against Nepal in the FEDFINA Women’s T20 Bilateral Cricket Series for Blind 2023!!
Far from the conventional cricket, we are accustomed to, this adaptive version of the sport not only showcases exceptional athletic prowess but also serves as a testament to the indomitable spirit of women who play the game without the reliance on sight.
The five-match T20 bilateral series between India and Nepal was played from December 11 to December 15 at Police Gymkhana Cricket Ground, Marine Lines West, Mumbai. 3 students V. Ravanni, Sandya & M. Satyavati from our Nethra Vidyalaya schools were part of our Indian team!
India secured the first win by 8 runs in the first match on 12/11. The Indian team’s score was 194/4. Ravanni scored 38 runs in it. Our team continued their success journey in their 2nd match on 12/12 with 149 runs. Nepal coming back in the third game on 12/13 denied India’s Series win. India came back on the fourth T-20 and clinched the series 3-1 with one match to go. Ravanni scored 30 runs in this winning match!
The victory of the Indian Blind Women’s Cricket Team in the bilateral series against Nepal reflects their incredible talent, dedication, and perseverance. Additionally, the achievements of Satyavathi, Ravani, and Sandhya from Nethra Vidyalaya School are indeed commendable, making the school, our nation, and all their supporters extremely proud. Their success truly inspires and highlights the capabilities and spirit of determination within the visually challenged community.
Nethra Vidyalaya is a noble initiative of our Acharya, HH Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji, established with the vision of providing free and holistic education to visually impaired children. Swamiji’s constant aspiration is to empower every student to become self-reliant and lead a life of dignity, without dependence on others.
A remarkable highlight of Nethra Vidyalaya is that our students confidently write their examinations using laptops, moving beyond traditional Braille methods. This reflects the institution’s commitment to embracing modern technology and fostering true independence.
Our students have also had the proud honor of participating in NCC Parades in the presence of the Governor, showcasing their discipline and confidence on esteemed platforms.
You’ve heard those amazing stories: students crafting their own exams, a national chess champ rising up, software engineers smashing limits. That’s the real magic of Nethra Vidyalaya. And it all kicked off with something simple—a donation, just like yours could.
These kids have the spark, the grit. They just need that one tool to light the way. Your gift? It’s the key to their independence.
Donate today. Help build futures full of dignity, freedom, and big wins.
