Andhra Pradesh clinch the Nagesh Trophy National T20 Cricket Tournament for the Blind 2021-22 for the third consecutive times.
Teams from 24 States of India, consisting of 384 visually impaired players have participated in this tournament from Nov16th-Nov25th.
It takes pride to announce that 3 Students/Alumni from Nethra Vidyalaya are part of this winning Team.
These Nethra students(Mr.Gopala Chari, Mr.Ravindra and Mr.Punya Srinadh) hadonce expressed to Win Nagesh national trophy and dedicate that to Netravidyalaya school. Nethra staff dedication, students’determination and all the constant support from Vikasa Taranginivolunteers and donors helped them reach this dream today not just once but hat-trick.
Not only did our institution support the 3 students with expenses for travel and training, but also enabled other visually challenged enthusiasts to form a Team for the state.
Amidst the Covid-19 situation, CABAP (Cricket Association for Blind of Andhra Pradesh) requested Nethra Vidyalaya to organize the Selection trials of the AP Cricket team for Visually Challenged. Nethra Vidyalaya a visionary of HH Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji organized the camp for 36 members in all aspects like accommodation, food, transport, etc., from 3rd to 5th Jan 2021.
Our VT Seva volunteers who are always on their toes to serve and encourage the talents of the underprivileged have contributed an amount of 8 Lakhs which was distributed among the team of 16 members by Rs50,000 after winning the Feb’21 T20 championship.
