Harithaharam for Telangana at Nethra Vidyalaya

15th July 2017 marks ‘Green Day’ at Nethra Vidyalaya where students happily planted trees on the eve of Harithaharam.

  • All the degree and Intermediate college students participated in the program;
  • All visually challenged students and faculty participated in this program with full enthusiasm.
  • Students borrowed certain models like Avenue Plantation, Block Plantation and Institutional Plantation for the plantation program.
  • Telangana Haritha Haram is a flagship program of the Telangana Government which envisages increasing the present 24% tree cover in the State to 33% of the total geographical area and Nethra Vidyalaya proudly takes part in the great initiative!

Nethra Vidyalaya, founded by HH Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji, provides free, holistic education to visually impaired children — empowering them to live with dignity and self-reliance. Swamiji’s constant aspiration is to empower every student to become self-reliant and lead a life of dignity, without dependence on others.

Our students write exams on laptops, have marched in NCC Parades before the Governor, and shine in sports, athletics, and cultural events — embodying Swamiji’s vision of true independence.

These achievements reflect the dedication of our students, the guidance of Swamiji, and the generous support of our donors and volunteers.
