The District Welfare Officer, Smt. Padmaja Ramana, along with her team, paid a visit to our Netra Vidyalaya College . During her visit, she engaged with students, staff, Netra Committee Coordinator Sriman Smt Krishna Kumari, Principal Sriman K. Kesavacharyulu, and Vice Principal K. Srinivasulu. Expressing satisfaction, she lauded the organization’s dedicated care for visually impaired students.
Smt. Padmaja Ramana was pleased to learn about the unique practices at Netra Vidyalaya Junior and Degree College for the Blind, where visually impaired students independently write exams without a scribe/helper. She also acknowledged the active participation of visually challenged students in NCC Parades.
Inquiring about the students learning methods, Smt. Padmaja Ramana posed questions to Netra Computer Lab Incharge Sriman D. Pavan Kumar Reddy, who explained that students read and write using screen reader software such as JAWS and NVDA.
The visit included a demonstration of the students talents, including their proficiency in typing skills, showcasing abilities that surpassed those of normal students. The students also impressed with their chanting of slokas, adding an enriching cultural aspect to their education.
Netra Committee Coordinator Smt. Krishna Kumari highlighted the students achievements in education, cultural activities, and National Para Athletics, where they earned gold, silver, and bronze medals. The visit concluded with Smt. Padmaja Ramana extending her best wishes to the students.
Upon the recommendation of Netra Committee Coordinator Sriman Krishna Kumari, the District Welfare Officers then visited the Statue of Equality, where they experienced a sense of marvel and joy
Nethra Vidyalaya is a noble initiative of our Acharya, HH Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji, established with the vision of providing free and holistic education to visually impaired children. Swamiji’s constant aspiration is to empower every student to become self-reliant and lead a life of dignity, without dependence on others.
A remarkable highlight of Nethra Vidyalaya is that our students confidently write their examinations using laptops, moving beyond traditional Braille methods. This reflects the institution’s commitment to embracing modern technology and fostering true independence.
Our students have also had the proud honor of participating in NCC Parades in the presence of the Governor, showcasing their discipline and confidence on esteemed platforms.
You’ve heard those amazing stories: students crafting their own exams, a national chess champ rising up, software engineers smashing limits. That’s the real magic of Nethra Vidyalaya. And it all kicked off with something simple—a donation, just like yours could.
These kids have the spark, the grit. They just need that one tool to light the way. Your gift? It’s the key to their independence.
Donate today. Help build futures full of dignity, freedom, and big wins.
