Blind Student of Nethra Vidyalaya Wins 3rd Prize in Yoga Competition-2015, Vizag

Students from Nethra Vidyalaya Varija school for the blind student and visually challenged, participated in the 9th Yoga competition-2015, held at Vishakapatnam Seethammadhara on 13th September 2015.

They won 3rd prize.

Palla Ganesh, a student of 10th grade won the prize and came in 3rd place. He will go on to participate in the State-level competitions  which are being conducted in Vijayawada on 19th and 20th September.

The students of Nethra Vidyalaya are taught Yoga as part of their  school and college curriculum. Everyday, the students across the Nethra Vidyalaya, Jeeyar Integrated Vedic Academy (JIVA) and Jeeyar Educational Trust (JET) practice yoga as part of their daily lifestyle.

It is an ingenious amalgamation of the ancient and scientific Vedic method of teaching combined with the latest advancements in technology is implemented across the Jeeyar educational institutes. The epic example of this system of education is displayed at Nethra Vidyalaya where the blind student and visually impaired students of the school and college study and appear for exams using laptops and latest JAWS (Job Access with Sound) software.

Students who participated, were awarded certificates and presented with mementos.
