Nethra Vidyalaya provides education for blind in India and is a part of the Jeeyar Educational Trust (JET) founded by HH Sri Sri Sri Tridandi Chinna Srimannarayana Ramanuja Jeeyar Swamiji.
Nethra Vidyalaya founder, Sri HH Tridandi Chinna Srimannarayana Ramanuja Jeeyar Swamiji is a visionary, ever cheerful, an inspiration for millions of people, an erudite scholar and philosopher, unmindful of his bodily comforts, radiating hope for those in grief, an embodiment of warmth and care for the suffering, an ambassador of peace and equality.
His unique vision about empowering the blind children to not depend on scribes for writing exams has paved way for this extra-ordinary institution. This is achieved by enabling and training blind children write their own exams using laptops. His leadership and guidance has touched millions of people through this institution.
His focus is on empowering blind children to be self-reliant and confident. To achieve this objective, Swami has gone to the length of getting approvals from governments at state level for allowing children to independently write exams using laptops. This is the first of its kind in the world, thereby integrating the differently able children with society in harmony.
Several outgoing students have mastered the art of service and giving while successfully establishing their career path in banking, telecom, teaching, navy, gazetted positions, and in collector offices.
Currently, our institutions are providing quality education for free and are helping hundreds of blind children achieve their dreams. All the outgoing students have successfully begun to contribute to the society with positive attitude and energy that they carried from His Holiness Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji.
Nethra Vidyalaya, an initiative of Vikasa Tarangini founded in 1992, provides inclusive and value-based education for the visually challenged. Established in 2001 with just 18 students, it has grown into a network of schools and colleges empowering over 1,860 students across India.
