Little Kids from Oakridge School Visited Nethra Vidyalaya

25th July, 2016

Little kids from Oakridge school (Classes 1 & 2) visited Nethra Vidyalaya on the 25th of July. They collected rice, soaps, toothpaste, toothbrush, detergents & many more daily utilities from their homes and gave them to our children for use. They spent some time with them and were surprised to see the abilities and skills of visually challenged children studying in Nethra Vidyalaya. The students have been doing projects in all subjects and they opened their project work to exhibit for the Oakridge school kids.

Children happily went back with much more appreciation of their eyes and the parts of the body.

Nethra Vidyalaya, founded by HH Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji, provides free, holistic education to visually impaired children — empowering them to live with dignity and self-reliance. Swamiji’s constant aspiration is to empower every student to become self-reliant and lead a life of dignity, without dependence on others.

Our students write exams on laptops, have marched in NCC Parades before the Governor, and shine in sports, athletics, and cultural events — embodying Swamiji’s vision of true independence.

These achievements reflect the dedication of our students, the guidance of Swamiji, and the generous support of our donors and volunteers.
